I’m Hugo Scheepers, a 29-year-old male Architectural Studies graduate with an internship at Roodt Architects. I’m building this sitting service to help fund my postgraduate studies in 2027.
I have a poodle of my own, who isn’t currently with me in Bloemfontein. I miss that everyday animal companionship, and caring for other people’s pets is something I genuinely enjoy.
I’ve also trusted someone else with my own dog. I understand how much that means. My approach is simple: follow your instructions carefully, pay attention to the details, and keep you connected with WhatsApp photos and updates at a frequency we agree.

Choose this package ↗Pet-care packages include up to two ordinary-care pets, owner-supplied food and travel within an agreed normal service area. Walking includes one dog. These are alternative base packages: feeding and home checks within the selected package are not billed again.
Optional extras & holiday pricing
- Additional pet from the third onward: R30 per package day/night, charged once, not once per visit.
- Walk attached to booked care: R90 / 30 minutes or R140 / 60 minutes, one dog; no extra journey. An additional dog is R40 per walk, subject to safe handling. Standalone walks are R120 / R180.
- Additional separate daytime visit: R120 / 25–30 minutes. Only outside included care hours. For two daily visits choose the R260 package.
- Extra companionship time: R100 per hour. Four hours costs R450 total.
- Basic plant watering, post collection, WhatsApp updates and manageable oral medication are included when agreed within booked time. Specialist care, extensive gardening and additional travel need a separate quote.
- Proposed public-holiday uplift: 25% on eligible service charges only. Not an uplift on an entire holiday-period booking. The calculator covers 2026–2027 holidays; newly declared dates require review. Overnight and live-in units use the start date of each night / 24-hour unit.
All extras and any changes are confirmed in writing before booking. Live-in estimates round up each started 24-hour period; short final periods are reviewed personally.

A few useful details
Where do you work, and are my dates available?
I’m based in Bloemfontein. Share your suburb and dates so I can confirm travel and availability. The calculator does not reserve dates or show live availability. Any travel charge will be included in the written quote before you decide.
What will we agree at a meet-and-greet?
We’ll discuss your pets’ temperament, feeding and toileting routines, how long they can be left alone, and any handling or medication needs. For stays, we’ll also agree sleeping arrangements, daytime presence, arrival and departure times, and any other people who may access the property. A meet-and-greet does not automatically confirm a booking.
What should I prepare before care starts?
Provide enough labelled food, any agreed medication with written instructions, leads or harnesses, cleaning supplies and a written care routine. After confirmation, we’ll exchange your preferred vet’s details, a local emergency contact, an agreed emergency plan and permission for any transport or treatment costs. Share access instructions privately, not in this form.
What do home checks and walks include?
Home checks follow an agreed list of tasks; they are not a security patrol or a guarantee against damage or theft. Deep cleaning, repairs and pet transport are not included in the estimate. Walk timing, route, equipment, weather and safe handling need to suit each dog. Please disclose escape risks, bite history or reactivity before booking so we can assess whether the care is suitable.
Do you supply food or work out portion sizes?
Please provide enough food, treats and supplies for the booking. I follow your exact quantities and times for each pet. Changes to diet or portions should come from you or your vet.
Can you help with medication or complex care?
Describe the needs in your enquiry. Medication and specialist care are accepted only after a discussion of instructions and suitability. This is a sitting service, not veterinary care.
Is sending an enquiry a confirmed booking?
No. Availability, travel, duties, stay hours, any surcharges and the final price must be reviewed and agreed first. Cancellation and payment arrangements will be shared before confirmation.
How is my information handled?
The form is processed in your browser. This site has no form database, advertising trackers or analytics and does not deliberately save your entries. Copying or downloading creates a copy you control. Choosing WhatsApp shares the summary with WhatsApp and the sitter; their privacy terms apply. The hosting provider may keep standard technical access logs. Only share access codes and emergency contact details privately after booking. You can ask the sitter to delete enquiry messages, subject to any applicable record-keeping needs.
